  1. The U.S. Department of Justice's initiative against hate crimes and incidents in Montana communities was discussed at the United Against Hate meeting in Missoula on Jun. 16. U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich emphasized the responsibility to hold individuals accountable for crimes driven by hate, highlighting the need for acceptance and learning from past injustices. The meeting involved a panel of leaders addressing hate against the LGBTQ+ community and discussing strategies for reporting and addressing discrimination and hate crimes effectively. (KPAX News)
  2. The 15th annual Summer Made Fair took place at Caras Park in Missoula on Jun. 18, featuring over 160 artists and a focus on supporting local businesses. Attendees had the opportunity to shop for handmade clothes, jewelry, and unique items, including guitars made from cigar boxes. James Rendle, the maker of these guitars, shared his story and highlighted the importance of participating in handmade crafts events for his business, Crafted in Montana. (KPAX News)
  3. Behind Owen McQuinn's impressive pitching performance, the Missoula Mavericks ended their three-game losing streak with an 11-7 victory against the Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs. McQuinn rebounded after allowing two runs in the first inning and held the Monarchs scoreless through the second to sixth frames. Despite surrendering five runs in the seventh, McQuinn's efforts were supported by the Mavericks' offense, including strong contributions from Carter Taylor, Chris Compton, and Henry Black.
