- More than 400,000 people are expected to be in Las Vegas at the Strip and downtown to ring in the New Year. In addition to a lot of extra officers patrolling the area, rules for visitors include no carts, strollers, glass or metal bottles, or large bags like luggage, backpacks, or diaper bags. About 4,000 metal barriers will be in place and vehicle access to the Strip is expected to be closed by 8:00 p.m. (News3LV)
- Harry Reid International Airport canceled and delayed the most flights in the country as of Monday afternoon — with the exception of Denver. The extreme winter weather impacted flights and caused Southwest Airlines to cancel 73 percent of their flights and delay an additional 11 percent in Las Vegas. A total of 285 Southwest flights were affected in and out of the airport. (Subscription: Las Vegas Review-Journal)
- The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public's assistance with information regarding a string of November robberies. Police are searching for two suspects who have been seen stealing items at a business near the 3400 block of East Tropicana Road. The first suspect is a Black woman, in her 30s, about five-foot, seven inches tall, and weighs around 120 pounds. The other suspect is a Black male, in his 30s, about five-foot, 111 inches tall, and weighs around 135 pounds. If you have information about these crimes or the suspects, the police ask you to call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
