Amazon Announces Third North Las Vegas Facility

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV - Online retail megastore Amazon is building a new 800,000 square foot, three-story building in North Las Vegas that will serve as a customer fulfillment center. In a release on Wednesday, the city of North Las Vegas said it anticipates the facility will provide over 1,000 full-time jobs in the Las Vegas Valley.

The warehouse will be the third Amazon facility in North Las Vegas. It's expected to open by the middle of next year and will ship small items, such as books and toys, to customers.

"The rapidly expanding presence of Amazon in North Las Vegas speaks to the relationship the City has cultivated with the company, and the ease and speed of doing business in North Las Vegas, efforts that are paying off in dividends by creating thousands of jobs for our hardworking residents and growing our City's tax base," North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee said.

The facility will be developed by VanTrust Real Estate and will be built near Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sloan Ln. between Ann Rd. and Tropical Pkwy. The facility will provide 2.4 million square feet of e-commerce space, the release said.

"We're excited to open a new, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in North Las Vegas and to continue innovating in a state committed to providing great opportunities for jobs and customer experience," said Sanjay Shah, VP of North America Customer Fulfillment for Amazon. "Nevada has a talented workforce, and we are happy to add to the more than 3,000 associates already serving customers in the state.
