Cedric Crear was sworn in as Las Vegas City Council's Ward 5 representative during Wednesday's city council meeting.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Cedric Crear is officially a member of Las Vegas City Council. The Ward 5 representative was sworn in by Mayor Carolyn Goodman during Wednesday's city council meeting.
"I'm honored to be chosen by the people of Ward 5 to represent our community and this great city. I have a deep passion for this community and I'm humbled to be able to work with Mayor Goodman and the City Council to improve the lives of our residents," Crear said.
In late March, Crear won the seat in a special election held to fill the position vacated by former councilman Ricki Barlow's resignation in January. Barlow admitted to misusing campaign funds in 2015 and plead guilty to a wire fraud charge in February.
