Ward 5 City Council Election Is Today
Las Vegas Ward 5 residents will vote to elect a new city council representative today.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Today is election day for the Ward 5 Las Vegas City Council seat. Early voting was held last week at three locations across Ward 5. The results of today's election will be canvassed on March 4 and the new city councilor will be sworn in April 18.
Las Vegas' City Council is made up of seven members, including Mayor Carolyn Goodman. The Ward 5 seat has been empty since Ricki Barlow resigned in January, admitting he used misused 2015 campaign funds.
Eleven candidates have filed for the seat. They are: Curtis Coleman, Sheila Collins, Cedric Crear, Timothy V. Hicks, Shannon Hopkins, Walter Jones III, Patricia S. Messinger, Joseph “Joe” Mitchell, Harvey Munford, Shondra Summers-Armstrong, and Randy Voyard.

Ward 5 residents can vote at the following locations today, March 27:
- Tobler Elementary School, 6510 W. Buckskin Ave.
- Doolittle Community Center, 1950 J St.
- Culley Elementary School, 1200 N. Mallard St.
- Las Vegas City Hall, 496 Main St.
