Fire Destroys Most Of Rummel Motel In Downtown Las Vegas
Two thirds of a vacant motel in Downtown Las Vegas was destroyed in a Friday morning fire, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said.
LAS VEGAS, NV - A fire Friday morning destroyed most of the vacant Rummel Motel in Downtown Las Vegas. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said that two-thirds of the motel was destroyed in the third fire at the empty motel in a year's span.
Fire and Rescue last responded to an incident at the motel on Dec. 22. Last April, a fire caused $75,000 in damage to the motel.
The calls on Friday came in at 10:48 a.m. Heavy smoke and flames were coming through the roof of the motel, according to a press release. The fire was "under control in less than 30 minutes," and did not spread.

As firefighters were preparing to put out the fire they saw people leaving the motel, which has been the site of squatters, according to Las Vegas Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Tim Szymanski.
The Rummel Motel is located at 1809 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Nobody was injured in the fire

Las Vegas and Clark County firefighters responded to a vacant motel fire late Friday morning. The motel has burned previously in the past two years. The cause of the fire is under investigation and nobody was injured. There were no reported injuries..
