  1. Multiple funding opportunities have helped the Las Vegas startup community grow and launch multiple services in 2022. During 2022, the city saw nearly 4,000 new business licenses, a more than 10 percent increase from 2021's fiscal year. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  2. Nearly 70 commissioned and civilian personnel were honored on Saturday during a ceremony at Police Memorial Park. The event celebrated 50 years of the Metropolitan Police Department, which was formed in 1973. One of the officials honored was Maryetta Bowman, the first woman to go through the state police academy. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
  3. This past Sunday was the final day of this year's CES, formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show. Highlights of this year's show included a 3D option for video calls, a robot that can make boba tea, and a nut milk brewing machine. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)

  • If you're looking for a new furry family member for the new year, then how about one that might snag you a free flight? Frontier Airlines is offering free flight vouchers to adopters who take home one of three kittens currently up for adoption at the Las Vegas Animal Foundation. The kittens' names are Delta, Spirit, and Frontier. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  • CES always brings some fascinating tech showings, and this year was no exception. During the show, L'Oréal showcased its newest product, a lipstick applicator for those with limited mobility. (News3LV)
