Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

  1. A Las Vegas woman hit a jackpot at the Cannery Casino Hotel off the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday. The jackpot was worth $620,813.48. She hit it while playing on a 25-cent IGT Wheel of Fortune slot machine. Boyd Gaming presented her with a giant check for the amount. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  2. The Clark County Marriage License Bureau reports a sudden influx of couples applying for marriage licenses. The influx has been attributed to couples hoping to be married on Nov. 11. The county issued 953 licenses on Wednesday and Thursday. Couples are reminded that registering online can dramatically decrease wait time at the License Bureau. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  3. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking the community for help in identifying suspects involved in a recent shooting. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Simmons Street on Wednesday. The suspects were caught on surveillance footage fleeing from the scene in a four-door Lexus sedan and a four-door Nissan Maxima. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department.
