Jay Leno Seriously Burned In Gasoline Fire

The 72-year-old former 'Tonight Show' host canceled a Sunday night appearance in Las Vegas due to serious injuries.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Former 'Tonight Show' host Jay Leno, 72, suffered “serious burns” in a gasoline fire, Leno confirmed to Variety.

“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok," he told the outlet. "Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”

City News Service reported that the comedian and host is at the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills undergoing treatment for burn injuries suffered in a fire at his vintage car garage in Burbank.

Leno is “in good humor and touched by all the inquiries into his condition," the burn center wrote in a statement shared by KTLA.

One of Leno's vintage cars erupted in flames for unknown reasons Sunday, according to TMZ, which added that Leno suffered burns on the left side of his face, but his eyes and ears were not damaged.

Leno missed a Sunday night appearance at The Financial Brand's Forum 2022 in Las Vegas, organizers for the event said, according to PEOPLE.
