Las Vegas Police Investigate Three Overnight Murders

LVMPD responded to three separate murders within an 8-hour span from 10 p.m. Sunday night to 6 a.m. Monday morning.

LAS VEGAS, NV - Murders across the Las Vegas Valley Sunday night and into Monday morning left three people dead and two hospitalized, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police. The two who remain hospitalized are women who police say each killed a man before turning the gun on themselves.

The murders were reported by LVMPD separately and occurred over the course of eight hours.

Metro police responded to the first murder at 10:19 p.m. Sunday night, March 25. Police found a man dead in a parking lot near the intersection of Valley View Blvd. and Blue Diamond Rd. who died from a gunshot wound. The victim was described as an adult male.

Police say the victim met a man in the parking lot who was driving a gray sedan and the incident may be drug related. Both men got into an argument and each pulled out a handgun, according to a Metro release. The suspect left down Blue Diamond Rd.

1st attempted murder-suicide

Metro police found a husband and wife shot at an apartment on Stober Way at 1:24 a.m. Monday Morning, March 26. The husband was dead at the scene and the wife, named by police at 21-year old Jennifer Riviera, was taken to University Medical Center.

According to a Metro release, "evidence at the scene suggests Riviera shot the male before turning the gun on herself." Police say Riviera will be booked in absentia in Clark County Detention Center. and be charged with her husband's murder.

2nd attempted murder-suicide

At 5:17 a.m. on Monday, March 26, officers arrived at a home on Sacramento Dr. and found an adult male who was dead from a gunshot wound. According to a Metro release, detectives determined the victim got into an argument with 20-year old Alisha Rucker, who then shot the man and fled in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala.

Police say that roughly two hours later, Nevada Highway Patrol stopped Rucker on Interstate 15 and stopped her vehicle. During the stop, police say she shot herself. She was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, and will be booked in absentia in Clark County Detention Center on the murder charge.
