Libraries In Las Vegas Reducing Late Fees In Exchange For Food
Your late fees can be reduced by $2 each time you donate to Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's Food for Thought food drive.

LAS VEGAS, NV - If you forgot to return the last book you checked out of the library, you have two weeks to take that trivial afterthought and make a positive difference as part of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's Food for Though food drive.
For the remainder of the month of April, anyone with outstanding fines can have their fines reduced by donating food at any of the district's 25 branches. For each packaged, non-perishable item brought in, fines will be reduced by $2. There is no limit to the number of donations that can be made, so if you have a bunch of peas that have been sitting in your cupboard for six months, bring them in. The LVCCLD will take all donations to the Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas.
The library district is hoping the food drive will bring back members who have been absent for a long period of time due to late fees. The district is also offering to replace any library cards free of charge.
