Knife-Wielding Man Killed By Las Vegas Police
A man was shot & killed by Las Vegas police while holding a knife after officers responded to a domestic violence call, the department said.
LAS VEGAS, NV - Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating an officer involved shooting on the 2000 block of Paradise Rd., according to LVMPD Public Information Officer Aden Ocampo-Gomez. No officers were injured in the incident.
This is the fourth officer involved shooting of 2018 involving LVMPD.
UPDATE (5:00 p.m.): At 11:47 a.m. Metro police responded to a call at an apartment on Paradise Rd. from a woman who said her boyfriend hit her and was holding a knife. When officers arrived, the woman was outside and the man was still inside. According to LVMPD Sgt. Jeff Clark, officers knocked on the apartment door to try to talk to the man.

"After some time, the male suspect inside came out of the apartment armed with a knife. Officers gave him repeated commands to drop the knife and he refused, and advanced towards our officers, at which time multiple officers fired," Clark said.

The man died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The identity of the officers involved will be released within 48 hours, LVMPD said.
