Here are the top three stories today in Las Vegas:

  1. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that a man is in custody in connection with a Thursday-morning homicide. Ishmil Swafford, 43 years old, was arrested on Oct. 28 and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center. The homicide occurred in the 5800 block of Spectacular Bid Street at about 1:21 a.m. on Oct. 27. The police were called when a six-year-old child ran to a neighbor's home to report the incident. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
  2. Yoni Barrios, the suspect in a mass stabbing investigation, will be undergoing a mental health evaluation. The evaluation will determine if Barrios is competent enough to stand trial. The mass stabbing occurred on Oct. 6 on the Las Vegas Strip and resulted in the death of two individuals and injuries for six others. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. A new Las Vegas Strip food hall is hosting hiring fairs this week. The fairs will be on Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4, at ARIA Resort and Casino in the VIP Services Lounge.
