  1. North Las Vegas police are seeking the public's help in locating a runaway 12-year-old boy. Joseph Thorns was last seen on Dec. 13 near E. Lake Mead Boulevard and is a type 1 diabetic. Officers describe him as a Black male with a dark complexion, 5'1'', about 110 pounds, with dark brown eyes and black hair.   2. A Las Vegas dance company has put a modern Latin and Ballroom dance style twist on "The Nutcracker." For the second year, Jordance Studios has partnered with the CCSDP K-9 unit to use its performance to raise funds and awareness for the unit. "The Nutcracker" with a Latin Twist will take place today, Dec. 17, and tomorrow, Dec. 18, at 6:00 p.m. at the West Las Vegas Library at 951 W Lake Mead Blvd. (KTNV 13 Action News Las Vegas)
  3. The North Las Vegas City Council appointed its first Latinx member this week. Councilwoman Ruth Garcia Anderson will represent Ward 2. Garcia Anderson will replace newly elected Mayor Pamela Goynes-Brown, a former councilwoman. (Subscription: Las Vegas Review-Journal)

  • Looking for a way to do a good deed this holiday season? The Las Vegas Animal Foundation is seeking donations to help a one-year-old dog suffering from severe mange. Donations will cover further treatments like medicated baths and antibiotics. (News3LV)
  • As part of their training, fire recruits had to climb more than 100 stories at the STRAT Las Vegas wearing 50 pounds of firefighter gear! (Las Vegas Fire & Rescue)
