Here are the top three stories in Las Vegas today:

1. NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal will be opening his second chicken restaurant in Las Vegas. Big Chicken will be opening next week on West Tropicana. The first location opened in 2018 by the Virgin Hotel. The restaurants serve fried chicken sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, and milkshakes. (Eater Vegas)
2. The Animal Foundation is hosting an adoption event that they hope will provide pets with forever homes in the new year. New Year, New Best Friend will run from today (Jan. 6) until Jan. 8. Adoption fees for all adult dogs will be $23 to celebrate the new year. Anyone who adopts a pooch over the weekend will be entered to win a free dog DNA test. (News3LV)
3. The World's Largest Bouncer is ready for work at a Las Vegas strip club. Mech "The Bot" Johnson will be guarding the front door of Sapphire Las Vegas, located in the adult entertainment complex. The robotic bouncer is 15 feet tall and weighs 8,800 pounds. The all-terrain mech suit is operated by a human controller. (Fox 5 Las Vegas)
