  1. On Tuesday, Comprehensive Surgical Care (CSC) opened a new Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Reno, which has been certified by the AAAHC. The state-of-the-art outpatient facility, located at 5443 Kietzke Lane, offers high-quality care at lower costs than traditional hospital settings, as well as improved access to minimally invasive interventional procedures, plastic surgery, and endovascular procedures. CSC's nursing model provides continuous care to patients throughout their entire experience, making a difference in their treatment. (KTVN)
  2. To alleviate heavy congestion for roughly 50,000 drivers per day, Pyramid Highway is set for a two-year, six-phase plan to widen the two-lane road, starting on May 1, 2023. The highway is a major connection for Spanish Springs to Reno, Sparks, and the North Valleys. Commuters, residents, and business owners have been concerned about traffic for years, and the expansion is expected to speed up the flow of cars. On Wednesday, NDOT held a virtual and in-person public information meeting about the project, including a sneak peek of some of the final touches, at Sepulveda Elementary School. (KOLO)
  3. Brock McCann, a 47-year-old man from Reno, has been found guilty of domestic battery and is set to be sentenced in June. His arrest came after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend to the ground and hit her in the head with a pole near the Sparks Marina in August 2022, as reported by a witness to Sparks Police. Prosecutors later discovered that this was his fourth offense of domestic battery against the same victim. (KTVN)
