  1. A Reno animal sanctuary is seeking donations of pumpkins leftover from the Halloween season. The Om Home Sanctuary currently houses nearly 100 rescue animals on its 70-acre farm. Anyone with pumpkins to donate is encouraged to reach out to the sanctuary directly via email to learn more. (KRNV)
  2. The Reno community is invited to participate in a public engagement session to help develop a vision for the future of Virginia Street. The meeting will take place tomorrow, Nov. 2, at the Reno City Hall Council Chamber from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Residents who cannot attend in person are invited to tune in virtually and offer feedback via an online survey.   3. Two new affordable housing projects are coming to Reno. Greenstreet Development Inc. recently broke ground on a 205-unit project for tenants ages 55 and older. A second development company, Inland Group, also announced plans for a 290-unit project in nearby Red Rock. The projects are expected to be completed by 2024. (Nevada Appeal)
