- The National Weather Service in Reno issued a warning of an Atmospheric River Pattern for the region that is expected to last from Thursday, Mar. 9 through Sunday, Mar. 12. The City of Reno officials said that they are actively monitoring water levels and will respond as needed in accordance with the city's their flood response plan. For residents in need of sandbags and sand, the city will be providing them at six locations available at the link. (This Is Reno)
- On Thursday, Mar. 9, the Wandering Wyld and Far Out will be hosting their Never Spring event. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Reno Public Market and consist of various activities like "wine and wax," exclusive screenings, and a prize-filled raffle. All proceeds from the raffle will benefit the woman-founded, local organization Skiing is Believing. (KOLO)
- This week, Jacobs Entertainment announced they're looking to rebrand the Sands Regency and transform the property into the "Bellagio of Reno." The company shared that it will be rebranding to J Resort as part of the planned $400 million renovation. Phase one of the renovations is expected to be completed by June 2023.
