- Autosales Inc., which has an office in Reno, has been fined by the federal Environmental Protection Agency for selling devices that defeat emission controls in diesel-powered vehicles. The devices are known as "straight pipes" and render inoperative emission control systems. Autosales Inc. is a major supplier of aftermarket auto equipment in the United States. (Nevada Appeal)
- Reno Experience District's Copper Pointe Studios is searching for models and vendors for its upcoming fashion show. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sep. 24 between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The event will feature fashion trends and shopping opportunities. (KOLO)
- The Washoe County Health District has reported its 11th case of monkeypox. The new case is a male in his 40s. The department has not released additional information about the infected individual.
