- Baby’s Bounty has expanded to Reno after launching in Las Vegas three years ago. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday where the company’s executive director, Kelly Maxwell, expressed her excitement at opening this option for local families in need. Parents can stop by the location and secure a week’s supply of diapers and wipes. (KOLO)
- Texas-based Surfin’ Chicken will debut its first Nevada location at nearby Sparks’ Walmart this weekend. Reno locals won’t have to go far to try out the new restaurant that specializes in chicken sandwiches, loaded fries, and specialty sauces. A 10-minute drive from the heart of Reno, Surfin’ Chicken is slated to open this Saturday as Nevada becomes just the third state in the country to host this chain. (Reno Gazette-Journal)
- Reno veterans had the chance to check for any exposure they may have experienced during their time of service. On Tuesday, the Regional Affairs Benefits Office allowed free exposure screening walk-ins for veterans. This was a part of the PACT Act that President Joe Biden signed last August. The tests determined if any participant was exposed to burn pits or Agent Orange. Those deemed to have been subjected to these could be entitled to compensation. (KOLO)
