  1. Reno Food Systems, a nonprofit that creates food systems for the community, has accepted a $10,000 donation from Greater Nevada Credit Union. The funds will be used to help alleviate food insecurity in the Reno area. More than 332,000 Nevada residents are living with food insecurity, according to Feeding America. (Carson Now)
  2. The opening of the Bob Cashell memorial garden has been rescheduled. The ceremony will now take place on Oct. 4 at 5:00 p.m. at Bicentennial Park at First and Ralston Streets. The original ceremony had to be rescheduled due to wildfire smoke. The garden is meant to honor Bob Cashell, the late Reno Mayor. (This Is Reno)
  3. Construction has started on the new Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Reno. The new location will be near Keystone Avenue. This is the third Cracker Barrel Restaurant location in the state. The location will likely open next spring and will hire about 200 employees. (2 News)
