- On Apr. 7 and 8, 72 citations were given out, four cars were towed, and two people were arrested during a regional street racing crackdown. The Reno and Sparks police departments, as well as the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, conducted the sweep across Truckee Meadow over the two days. There is a zero-tolerance policy for street racing in Washoe County, as it can lead to serious injuries for those involved and those in the nearby area. (KRNV)
- Broadway shows are making their way to Reno for this upcoming season, including seven first-time shows for Northern Nevada. The Pioneer Center has received its line-up for the popular Broadway shows coming this upcoming 2023-2024 season, including favorites like "The Lion King," "Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas," "To Kill A Mocking Bird," and more. Renewing subscribers of the Pioneer Center can purchase their tickets now as part of their benefits, and new subscribers for subscription packages will have to wait until June. (KOLO)
- A new digital sign was installed in the school zone near Anderson Elementary as a visible reminder for drivers to slow down and look out for bikers and other pedestrians in the school zone. Washoe County Regional Transportation Commission provided $3,000 to the city to install these signs. They do not take pictures or issue tickets; rather, they are supposed to serve as a reminder. On average, display signs reduce the speed of drivers by up to nine miles per hour. (KUNR Public Radio)

- For all those who are worried to take on the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail in the near future, here are some photos of the trail, heading east from Farad, earlier this week. For the most part, everything is good to go, just be careful of a few spots, and as always, watch your step! (Tahoe-Pyramid Trail via Facebook)
- Monday kicked off National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Week and it was only right for the SPCA of Northern Nevada to stop by Washoe County Regional Animal Services to express thanks for all the work and service they do. - Join Party America at the National Automobile Museum on Saturday, Apr. 29 for a Cars Party and a showing of Disney's CARS beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event is free with paid admission or membership.
