Candidate for Secretary of State Kristopher Dahir Plan Revealed

Republican candidate Kristopher Dahir has a refreshing approach to his campaign. Rather than running a campaign attacking his opponents, he is focused on the specifics of this job and, more importantly, what his concrete plans are for his first week, first month, and six months in office.

Week 1: Mr. Dahir will evaluate and create a team to bring a customer service focus to all areas of responsibility.

He will call a meeting of Nevada County Clerks to agree on a goal of answering questions for Nevadans on the voting process.

Month 1:

Election integrity is a top priority and he will lead his office in evaluating voting machines and security for voter rolls. He will have bill draft requests ready and in place to repeal ballot harvesting and to implement voter ID. He will continue to work with the County Clerks to repair discrepancies in the voting process.

Improving the business license processes. He’ll have a plan in place to improve Silverflume and set up meetings with cities and counties to streamline business licensing. He’ll also have a bill draft request ready for Veterans in Business and will continue meetings with Chambers of Commerce to collaborate help for small businesses across Nevada.

Month 6:

Through the above actions, achieve the following goals by month 6:

• Improve transparency for election information and discussions, answer constituent questions and communicate information on areas of the voting system that may or may not be evident to citizens.
• Be an advocate for business and reduce the headaches for entrepreneurs starting a business in Nevada.
• Create a website and business platform that is user-friendly.
• Create a team across the entire Secretary of State office that understands we are here to serve and help the citizens of Nevada.
