The City of Reno invites the public to a free holiday Tree Lighting ceremony starting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Reno City Plaza. First Street between Virginia and Center Streets will be closed from 4 to 8 p.m.

Coffee and hot cocoa will be available for purchase at the event. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m, and the Tree Lighting is scheduled to take place around 6:30 p.m. The full schedule of events is as follows:
- 5:30 - 5:45 p.m.: Performance by the High Desert Harmony Chorus
- 5:45 - 6:00 p.m.: Reno Philharmonic (Olga Archdekin- Violin, Marina Roznitovsky-Oster - Harp)
- 6:00 - 6:15 p.m.: Performance by the Billinghurst Middle School and McQueen High School Choir
- 6:15 - 6:30 p.m.: Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Reno City Council conduct the countdown for the official City of Reno Tree Lighting
- 7 p.m.: Event Ends
