Here are the top three stories today in Reno:
- The Reno Police Department will be cracking down on dangerous motorcycle driving. On Friday, the department made three arrests, issued 13 citations, and towed four motorcycles. The crackdown is being funded by the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety. (KOLO)
- Despite not meeting the qualification criteria, a candidate for Nevada's attorney general will remain on Reno voters' ballots. The decision to leave John Kennedy's name on the ballot was approved by a Carson City district court judge. Kennedy has indicated that he does not want to run for the position anymore. To qualify for the position, a candidate must be an attorney in Nevada and a member of the Nevada Bar Association; Kennedy is neither. (Nevada Appeal)
- Reno air quality continues to worsen as smoke billows into the area from the Mosquito wildfire in Placer County, California. According to the Placer County Sherriff's Office, the fire is consuming at least 23,000 acres. As of Saturday, the fire was 0 percent contained and still continuing to grow. (The Union)
