  1. The Downtown Partnership is launching "Downtown Tuesdays" effective May 9 in efforts to promote and revitalize the city's downtown area. Set to run through Sept. 12, Downtown Tuesdays will take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Partnership Plaza. The events will feature food trucks and yard games and will showcase local talent. It will provide a platform for artists, musicians, and food vendors to share their craft with the community. (KRNV)
  2. Reno-based drone company SkyDrop is the first company to be approved for live drone delivery from stores to homes in New Zealand. The approval allows for certain drone operations beyond the visual line of sight, which means that the operator does not have to physically see the drone while flying it. SkyDrop is pushing its last-mile drone delivery technology for a range of services, including food, medical supplies, and packages. One of its tests included delivering 77 packages from 7-Eleven in Reno. (Subscription: Reno Gazette Journal)
  3. A pedestrian was killed in a vehicle vs pedestrian crash on South Virginia Street Monday afternoon. RPD, the Reno Fire Department, and REMSA responded to reports of the crash in the 9100 block of South Virginia Street Monday at around 4:30 p.m. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and later died due to injuries. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the family. Anyone with information is asked to call RPD at 775-334-2677 or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900. (KOLO 8)
