- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in northwest Reno on Tuesday night. According to police, a motorcyclist was traveling west on McCarran Blvd. and attempted a left turn onto Kings Row when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling east. The motorcyclist died on the scene. (This Is Reno)
- “Dogs, Donuts & Donate Life” is coming up on Apr. 12, 19, and 27. The University Police Department—Northern Command in Reno will partner with the Nevada Donor Network for the event series during National Donate Life Month. The event will offer free donuts, appearances by K-9 officers, and organ donor registration opportunities. (KRNV)
- Reno Philharmonic is bringing the drama of Carmen to life this season. Now is your chance to see Bizet's Carmen, a fiery and tragic love story with iconic operatic arias. It runs at the Reno Philharmonic on Apr. 15-16 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The show is part of Season 54 and promises drama, passion, and unforgettable music; tickets are available for purchase. - The Reno Police Department and nearby regional departments recently conducted an operation to suppress illegal street racing. The crackdown in Truckee Meadows resulted in 72 citations, 4 vehicle tows, and 2 arrests for drug possession, reckless driving, and other violations. - The Reno Firefighters Association is prepping for wildland fire season. All of April, firefighters are training and preparing with extended hose lays, fire shelter deployments, structure protection, and radio communication, among many other actions. (Reno Firefighters Association via Facebook)
