Here are the top 3 stories in Reno today:

  1. The Washoe Board of Commissioners has approved funding to construct two new fitness courts at Reno public parks. The courts at San Rafael Regional Park and South Valleys Regional Park will be designed to encourage residents to get more physical activity and will also display local artwork. Funding for the parks will primarily be provided through American Rescue Plan Act resources.(KOLO)
  2. Two elderly women were rescued off of Mt. Rose late Monday night by Washoe County search teams. The crews responded to a call regarding two lost hikers around 6:30 p.m. and shortly after located the two women, ages 87 and 70, who were suffering from hypothermia. Both hikers were treated on the scene and declined to be transported to a nearby hospital. (FoxReno.com)
  3. The Reno Police Department is assisting the Plumas County Sheriff's Office in the search for a missing woman from Dallas, Texas. 45-year-old Jodi Page's phone was pinged at the Bordertown Casino in Reno on Oct. 6, one day after she was last seen visiting a boyfriend in Portola, California. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Plumas County Sheriff's Office. (KKOH)
