- On Sunday, a man was arrested in Reno after a gunshot was fired at a motel, prompting a response from the Reno Police Department. The incident took place at the Travellers Inn on South Virginia Street, and although no victim was found, a shell casing was discovered at the scene. Following an investigation and interviews with witnesses, 34-year-old Devin Henry was apprehended and charged with various offenses, including being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, discharging a gun in a public place, and possessing drug paraphernalia. - The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has completed its extensive repaving project on a section of southbound I-580 near Reno-Tahoe International Airport, after reducing the freeway to one lane over several weekends. The project involved resurfacing a 40-year-old roadway from Peckham Lane to Mill Street and was finished ahead of schedule, with over 7,700 tons of new asphalt laid. NDOT plans to shift its focus to the northbound side of I-580 for similar work in the upcoming weeks. (KRNV)
- Reno's Sanford Center for Aging is hosting an open house to celebrate its 30th anniversary and honor its founders, Jean and Graham Sanford.
