- On Friday, a Hawaii grand jury indicted Reno's Tudor Chirila, 77, on second-degree murder charges. He is currently in custody and is actively fighting extradition to Hawaii. According to Chirila, his rights were violated when he was arrested last week for the 50-year-old cold case. (KOLO)
- Miss USA contestants have started arriving in Reno. This year's national competition will be held at Reno's Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. The contestants have been sharing departure photos through social media accounts. Miss USA 2022 will be aired live on Hulu and FYI on Oct. 3. (Pageant Circle)
- The Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation partnered together Saturday to raise funds for local children battling cancer. The Dozer & Dirt Fundraiser was held at the Rilite Aggregate Pit. The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation is the only nonprofit in the region solely dedicated to fighting childhood cancer by assisting local families. (2 News)
