Kristopher Dahir Files for Candidacy: Nevada Secretary of State
Travels to Carson City for Official Filing

Carson City, NV. Kristopher Dahir, currently serving as City Councilman for the city of Sparks, filed March 7, 2022 as an official candidate for the office of Nevada’s Secretary of State. His name will appear on the Republican primary ballot in June 2022.
As the 3rd highest office for the State of Nevada, the position requires strong organizational leadership, which is a hallmark of Mr. Dahir’s career in public service, community advocacy, education, and pastoral care. “As Secretary of State for the great State of Nevada, I will be a voice for all citizens in our state, and will promise to bring much needed attention and leadership to trustworthy elections, support for business, and mitigation of securities fraud.”
Kristopher Dahir appeared at the Secretary of State’s offices in Carson City with his wife Melissa by his side for the signing and joined friends and supporters at the State Capitol yesterday. “I will stand for the small businesses of Nevada, which is the lifeblood of this great State and a key responsibility of this Office, and ensure we work toward honest and trustworthy elections,”says Mr. Dahir. With a passion for small businesses, he has a goal to have over 1,000 small business owners endorse him for the office by primary election day of June 14th. Early endorsements include Vondra Chiropractic, Mama Celeste’s Gastropub & Pizzeria, Las Vegas based Coffee Pub, Sparks based Glory Cloud Coffee Roasters, Durty Dogs Comics, and Chuy’s Mexican Kitchen.

Mr. Dahir holds degrees in psychology and a Masters in strategic leadership. He has concentrated on work with non-profits and businesses to help them run more concise and focused operations. Mr. Dahir has led and managed private education institutions for over 20 years. He has travelled to over 40 countries, leading and training leaders in the area of practical and principled leadership. He is currently serving his second term as Councilman for the city of Sparks. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, and for the last 12 years has made his home in Sparks. The common thread for Kris’s life is faith and community service. He is chaplain for the Northern Nevada State Veterans Home, a pastor at Outlook Christian Church, and the President and board trustee for Nevada Christian College. He also serves on the Community Homelessness Advisory Board, Immediate Past President of the National League of Cities, EDAWN Board of Directors, Vice Chair of the Truckee Meadows Water Authority, Washoe County District Board of Health, Vice Chair of the Western Regional Water Commission, and the Sparks Tourism and Marketing Committee. He and his wife Melissa of 28 years have two grown sons, Adam and Noah.
