- The National Weather Service reports Sunday reached a record temperature in Reno. The city reached 104 degrees on Sunday afternoon – the highest temperature ever recorded in Reno in September. Thankfully, cooler temperatures are expected next week. The National Weather Service is not entirely confident in its weather forecast due to uncertainties about tropical moisture in the area. (KOLO)
- The Washoe County Sheriff's Office has located missing woman Cindy Matthews. She went missing near Pyramid Lake on Sunday around 9:00 a.m. She was located around midnight on Monday. She was dehydrated and sunburnt when found. She has since been reunited with her family. (KOLO)
- The Reno Police Department's Traffic Section arrested two individuals during its Motorcycle Safety Operation. The operation was conducted by five officers on Sept. 3 in high traffic areas throughout Reno. The individuals were arrested for driving under the influence. The operation also resulted in 29 citations and four warnings. (2 News)
