Here are the top 3 stories in Reno today:

  1. Reno police are investigating a murder-suicide after two people were found dead last week. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victims as 54-year-old Evelyn Iverson and 81-year-old Eugene Iverson. Both individuals were discovered in a house on Corrigan Way on Oct. 15 and declared dead at the scene by gunshot wounds. (KKOH)
  2. The Reno City Council has reversed a controversial decision made earlier this year that required bars hosting DJ Trivia events to purchase cabaret licenses. Under the new change, cabaret licenses will no longer be required for indoor live entertainment activities that end before 11:00 p.m., provided the business hosts fewer than six events per year. Outdoor live entertainment activities will have different restrictions, including the need to shut down by 10:00 p.m. (This Is Reno)
  3. Two longstanding businesses in downtown Reno announced last week that they will be shutting their doors for good. Pizza Reno shared a statement on social media announcing that it will close after the Zombie Crawl on Oct. 22 due to a scheduled building remodel. Nearby night club Faces NV will close a few days later on Nov. 4 due to the end of its lease. (This Is Reno)
