  1. U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Mastro of Nevada announced that funding for a new veterans hospital in Reno was included as part of President Biden's Fiscal Year 2024 budget. The new hospital would serve as a replacement for the current VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System's medical center. Masto said of the hospital's inclusion in the budget, “I pushed the President to support this vital new Reno veterans' hospital in his budget and I'm glad to see it's been included. This is a big victory for Nevada's veterans and I'll keep fighting to make sure all the brave men and women who served our country get the high-quality care they deserve.” (2News)
  2. The Black Rabbit Mead Company is hosting Tour de Brews for St. Patrick's Day. During the event, participants can purchase a $12 passport to use to try out different beers and other drinks at more than 15 participating local businesses, bars, and breweries. The 21+ event runs this Friday, Mar. 17. (KOLO)
  3. The Nevada State Transportation Board has approved a two-year project that would widen and enhance the lanes along two and a half miles of Pyramid Highway. Starting this spring, drivers may encounter delays of up to 30 minutes in addition to temporary lane and intersection closures. Some of the changes include expanding the current four lanes of the highway between Queen Way to Los Altos Parkway to six lanes. (KRNV)
