  1. The University of Nevada Police Department arrested 27 people during a two-day crackdown on sex crimes near the campus this week. Officials say they arrested 14 suspects for attempting to solicit prostitutes, 11 for attempting to engage in sexual activities with people they believed to be juveniles, and two for attempting to recruit undercover detectives to work as prostitutes. The department was assisted by the FBI Northern Nevada Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force. (KKOH)
  2. Members of the Iranian-American community marched in Reno this weekend to protest the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The protest follows the death of 22-year-old Masha Amini, who was arrested by Iran's morality police and allegedly murdered while in the custody of the Iranian government last month. Nearly 300 people gathered at the Joe Crowley Student Union on the University of Nevada, Reno's campus Saturday before traveling downtown during the protest. (This Is Reno)
  3. The Reno Huskies girls' soccer team currently leads the Northern 5A standings, with the regional playoffs close on the horizon. As of Oct. 22, the Huskies had secured a 9-3-2 overall record for the season. The team will face off against Damonte Ranch High School tonight at 6:45 p.m. in the final game of the regular season.
