- According to a recent disclosure from the Securities and Exchange Commission, CI Investments lowers its stake by 10.3% in Monarch Casino & Resort, Inc. This fund owned over 29,000 shares of the company's stock and sold 3,400 of those shares during the fourth quarter. CI Investment owned about a 0.16% stake in the company originally, and the overall worth came out to nearly $2.3 million. (KUNC)
- Around the corner in Sparks, Granite Construction has received a $58 million contract to start work on the Pyramid Highway proposal. According to a recent news release from the company, a high-access arterial route has now been green-lit to help convert four lanes into six on Nevada State Highway 445, also known as Pyramid Highway. The funding comes from the Federal Highway Administration, and construction is set to finish by the winter of 2025. (ConstructionReviewOnline.com)
- The Reno Aces won 17-3 against the Sacramento River Cats on Saturday evening, clocking in 18 hits, 11 walks, and 15 runs. The game took place at the Greater Nevada Field, and stars like Jake McCarthy, Buddy Kennedy, Alek Thomas, Phillip Evans, and more all contributed to multiple hits in the victory against the River Cats. After a not-so-successful Friday night game, the Aces continuously filled up the bases at Saturday's game. (Our Sports Central)

- Hours after a key bill passage deadline, the highest-ranking lawmaker in Nevada's Senate gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Early Friday, Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro held meetings at the Legislature in Carson City, but by mid-day was checked into a hospital in Reno and continued her work there. While in labor, she conducted negotiations with Republican Governor Joe Lombardo's office. (The Nevada Independent)
- On Friday, May 19, new firefighters from Sparks Fire Academy celebrated their graduation from the program. Congratulations to the five firefighters and their families on reaching this amazing accomplishment. (Reno Firefighters Association)
- The Reno Little Theater is thrilled to announce the cast and crew for their most recent production, "Rock of Ages: Youth Edition."
