1. One person was killed late Wednesday night near the University of Nevada, Reno in what officials have described as an apparent self-defense shooting. Officers responded to the scene on Bartlett Street shortly before 11:00 p.m. and discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Reno police or Secret Witness at 775-322-4900. (FoxReno.com)
2. Reno families and their canine companions are invited to the Boxers and Buddies 15th Annual Howl-o-ween Party this weekend.
