Here are the top three stories in Reno today:
- The Washoe County Health District is urging residents to get a flu shot. Health experts are warning of an exceptionally bad flu season this year. It could be the worst one health experts have seen in years. The prediction is in response to the southern hemisphere's severe season. (My News 4)
- Street Vibrations will be held at Reno's Neon Line through Sunday. The event is free and will feature several different races, competitions, and poker runs. There will also be live music. Event organizers are asking the community to be mindful on the roads this weekend since there will be a significant increase in motorcyclists in Reno. (KOLO)
- Some Reno parents are waiting longer than usual for child support payments. The delays are due to the implementation of a new child support system. The NVKids system was implemented in Washoe County in April. The old system, NOMADS, was created in the 1980s and was in desperate need of an upgrade. The delays should be resolved by the end of next month. (KOLO)
