Teachers And Educators Throw Support Into Nevada Senate Race
The Nevada State Education Association announced their endorsement of Rep. Jacky Rosen for US Senate on Thursday.

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Nevada State Education Association - a group of over 40,000 teachers and education professionals across Nevada- announced on Thursday that they are endorsing 3rd District Rep. Jacky Rosen in her 2018 United States Senate campaign.
"Congresswoman Rosen has been a reliable partner working toward the vision of a quality public education for all Nevada students regardless of zip code or income level," said NSEA President Ruben Murillo Jr. "This is the type of representation we need, a U.S. Senator who wants what is best for students, families, and educators in Nevada."
Nevada has annually ranked dead last, or close, in nationwide education rankings. In Education Week's 2018 rankings, the Silver State came in dead last when cumulatively weighing school finances, chance for success, and K-12 achievement.

Rosen is vacating her seat in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District to run for the Senate seat currently held by Sen. Deal Heller. She's the front runner to win the Democratic primary.
“I’m honored to earn NSEA’s endorsement and the support of thousands of educators across Nevada,” Rosen said. “I understand the critical role public education plays in shaping our economic future because I was the first in my family to graduate from college, and my daughter is a proud product of Nevada’s public schools. A good job comes from a good education, and I will always fight to ensure our teachers and our kids have the tools and resources to succeed.”
