Here are the top 3 stories today in Reno:

  1. The University of Nevada, Reno Board of Regents approved a partnership with a private developer last week as part of a new program focused on finding affordable housing for graduate students. By the fall of 2023, the old Harrah's tower in Downtown Reno is expected to host up to 85 UNR graduate students. The deal will amount to nearly $3.2 million in annual rent cumulatively for the university. (Sparks Tribune)
  2. Officials with the Washoe County Sheriff's office say two suspects have been arrested on felony charges as part of a recent sweep of local sex offenders. The operation, dubbed "Hocus Pocus" ran from Oct. 24-30 in advance of Halloween trick-or-treating activities. The specifics of the individuals arrested and their respective charges have not been released. (KOLO)
  3. The 32nd Annual North American Shuffleboard Championships are coming to a close at the Sands Regency Casino hotel. The competition, which runs through Nov. 6, included a total of 13 events across four skill levels. The City of Reno has hosted the championship event since 1991. (KOLO)
