- The Reno-Tahoe region is expected to see more upcoming snowstorms and changing weather patterns this week that may lead to flooding. Reno will likely get snow with lower temperatures at the start of the week. Another storm is expected to move in during the last half of the week with much warmer weather that might bring heavy rains rather than snow. (Subscription: Reno Gazette Journal)
- Construction at the Thacker Pass lithium mine began on Thursday after a federal court rejected last-minute efforts by a conservation group to block the project. The mine's development has been delayed for the last two years due to lawsuits filed by conservation groups and local Native American tribes. The lawsuits argued that the mine's construction would destroy valuable habitat and environment as well as Native American cultural sites. (This Is Reno)
- Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged the playground at Reno's Paradise Park over the weekend. Firefighters responded to a call reporting the fire at the playground on the morning of Mar. 4. Images show damaged playground equipment from a large fire in the snowy park. (KRNV)
