- Once again, the Reno City Council will be selecting a replacement for the open council member seat. The council voted to appoint a replacement for Ward 3 during its meeting on Thursday. This is the second time the council is able to appoint a replacement in two months. The council will be conducting public interviews with the appointment finalists on Oct. 26. - Reno City Plaza will be closed for at least six weeks for maintenance. The closure started on Thursday. The reopening date has been announced as Nov. 10. The plaza's walking paths, irrigation systems, and plants will be maintained during the closure. (My News4)
- The Reno Aces will be participating in the minor league baseball postseason. The team has clinched the Pacific Coast League divisional title, earning them a spot in the playoffs. The Aces will be playing the El Paso Chihuahuas on Friday at the Las Vegas Ballpark. (NevadaAppeal)
