The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office today is releasing details of a critical incident response in the Detention Facility which occurred last night, February 7, 2022.

Detention Facility commissioned and civilian staff responded to two inmates experiencing a medical emergency shortly after 9:00 p.m. Deputies located the two unresponsive inmates and immediately began chest compressions. Upon arrival of medical staff and additional deputies – the inmates were each given six or more doses of naloxone, a medication known to help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. An AED was also utilized.
