- The National Weather Service of Reno has issued a winter storm watch for this weekend as snow is expected to blanket the Sierra. The precipitation is expected to begin Sunday afternoon and continue through late Tuesday night, resulting in up to four feet of snow in some areas. Officials warn that hazardous travel conditions may impact commute times greatly for several days. (KRNV)
- Ramp and lane closures are scheduled for two separate road repair projects in Reno and Sparks overnight on Monday, Nov. 7. The closures will accommodate repairs on one lane of eastbound I-80 at Virginia Street and the eastbound I-80 on-ramp from North Center Street. The Nevada Department of Transportation says drivers should expect minor travel delays during the closures. (KOLO)
- The human remains found by a hiker near Evans Canyon and Shale Court on Monday have been identified by police as 48-year-old Carol Herrera. Investigators with the Reno Police Robbery Homicide Unit are still looking into the incident. Herrera's cause of death had not been released as of Friday evening. (KKOH)
