AG Bondi Appoints Creegan Interim U.S. Attorney For The District Of New Hampshire
Erin Creegan has been appointed as the Interim United States Attorney for the District of New Hampshire.

CONCORD, NH — Erin Creegan has been appointed as the Interim United States Attorney for the District of New Hampshire.
United States Attorney Creegan was appointed to the position by United States Attorney General Pamela Bondi on Aug. 11, effective today. As Interim United States Attorney, Creegan is the Chief Federal Law Enforcement Officer in New Hampshire. She supervises the prosecution of all federal crimes and the litigation of all civil matters for the United States within the district. She leads an office of approximately 54 prosecutors, civil litigators, support personnel, and professional staff members, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

“Extraordinary work is already being done across New Hampshire to protect our communities and uphold the rule of law,” Creegan said. “As someone who calls the Granite State home, my focus will be on building on that foundation and marshaling every available resource to ensure New Hampshire continues to receive the full measure of federal support it deserves.”
On Tuesday, Creegan filed a withdrawal in state Superior Court as legal counsel representing the New Hampshire Judicial Branch in the criminal case against state Supreme Court Justice Anna Barbara Hantz Marconi. Hantz Marconi is accused of interfering with a criminal investigation into her husband state Ports Director Geno Marconi by speaking with former Gov. Chris Sununu and Pease Development Director Stephen Duprey.

Creegan was representing the state judicial branch because the whole state Supreme Court, including Chief Justice Gordon MacDonald, and Superior Court Judge Rudolph Ogden III have been called to testify in Hantz Marconi's trial.
On July 31, Creegan filed a motion to clarify the subpoenas to the judges, asking Superior Court Judge Martin Honigberg to ask the parties to submit information or argument on any testimony they will be seeking from the judges in Hantz Marconi's case.
“Upon hearing that information or argument, make a determination as to whether and about what any judicial officer may testify as a matter of law, or whether the subpoenas must be quashed as a matter of law,” Creegan wrote.
Creegan's withdrawal isn't expected to further delay Hantz Marconi's trial because the filing said a new attorney or attorneys will enter an appearance shortly.
Hantz Marconi's trial was recently postponed and juror selection is now scheduled for Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. with the jury trial scheduled for Nov. 17, 18 and 19 starting each day at 10 a.m. in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord.
U.S. Attorney Creegan has years of experience as a prosecutor in the United States Department of Justice having served in roles including as an Associate Deputy Attorney General and a prosecutor in the Counterterrorism Section in Washington D.C. Immediately prior to her appointment as the United States Attorney, Creegan served as the General Counsel for the New Hampshire Judicial Branch where she advised on all legal matters affecting the state judiciary.
