The Museum of the White Mountains (MWM) at Plymouth State University (PSU) welcomes new Assistant Director Kala Brzezinski. Brzezinski started in her new position in January and brings considerable knowledge and passion to serve diverse museum audiences.

“I am excited to join the Museum of the White Mountains and the PSU community and to continue to learn as I grow into this role,” said Brzezinski. “MWM is a unique New Hampshire gem, and I am eager to help bring our upcoming exhibitions to life for visitors from all over the state and beyond.”

In her role as assistant director, Brzezinski serves as the museum’s collections manager and assists with a number of tasks including communication with students, faculty and community members regarding collections and exhibitions, helping to define the education and programming goals of the museum and registration work for the multiple museum exhibits.

Originally from Middletown, Virginia, Brzezinski attended Auburn University in Alabama, where she received her bachelor’s degree in History. She then earned a master’s degree in Museum Education from Tufts University in Boston, where she developed a passion for collection management and public education.

Prior to joining the Museum of the White Mountains, Brzezinski served as a gallery assistant and interpreter at the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, as a glass plate digitalization assistant at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and as a curatorial assistant at the Harvard University Herbaria. She also served as a community programmer and public arts education affiliate at Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin, Ireland as a Fulbright Scholar.
