UNH Poll: Granite Staters Wary Of 'One Big Beautiful Bill' But Back No Tax On Tips, Overtime
Elon Musk is a largely unpopular figure in NH. Nearly half of state residents believe DOGE will have a negative effect on the country.

DURHAM, NH — A majority of New Hampshire residents do not want the U.S. Congress to pass President Trump's signature piece of legislation, the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," amid bipartisan concern about the federal debt.
Despite opposition to the overall bill, Granite Staters favor the provision of the bill to eliminate taxes on tips and overtime and are divided on work requirements for Medicaid and making the 2017 tax cuts permanent.

Elon Musk is a largely unpopular figure in New Hampshire and nearly half of state residents believe the Department of Government Efficiency has had a negative effect on the country. Approval of Trump's handling of the economy and immigration have fallen slightly in recent months, but approval of his overall performance is unchanged since May.
These findings are based on the latest Granite State Poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center. Granite State Panel members were sent an invitation to complete the survey and 1,320 completed the survey online between June 19 and June 23, 2025. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 2.7 percent.
