5 Things: It's an Egg-stra Special Weekend in Bedford!
Here's what's good in Bedford today and this weekend.

1. Find ... those ... eggs! Spring fever will spread with the exciting activities at this year’s Annual Our Promise to Nicholas (OPTN) Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, March 23, from 9-11 a.m. at the NH Sportsplex in Bedford. All things bright and beautiful will return with this popular children’s celebration of Easter, now in its 5th year. The event benefits the OPTN Foundation’s mission for finding a cure for Batten Disease. This, currently fatal, neurodegenerative disease afflicts several area children, including Bedford’s own 9-year-old Nicholas Dainiak.
2. I need your help! I'm losing the race to 1,000 Facebook 'Likes' by 98 right now. In fact, Windham Patch enters the day with 940 Facebook followers to Bedford Patch's 842. I don't know about you, but Bedford doesn't lose at anything (Just as the high school sports teams). Help me get to 1,000 by the end of the month by spreading the word and/or click here to 'like' Bedford Patch on Facebook. Thank you for your help! - Ryan
3. Graduation date is set. Bedford High School Commencement Ceremonies have been scheduled for Saturday, June 15 at 10 a.m.

4. On this day ... May 22, 1765, in an effort to raise funds to pay off debts and defend the vast new American territories won from the French in the Seven Years' War (1756-1763), the British government passes the Stamp Act on this day in 1765. The legislation levied a direct tax on all materials printed for commercial and legal use in the colonies, from newspapers and pamphlets to playing cards and dice.
