Bedford in the news:

  1. Commuter traffic heading to Bedford on Route 93 North was tied up on Wednesday at 4 p.m. after a state police cruiser was rear-ended in the breakdown at a construction detail. A car traveling north lost control and crashed into the cruiser by the Exit 4A Londonderry exit, police said. The driver and state trooper in the parked cruiser were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. They are expected to make full recoveries. See the dramatic impact here: (WMUR)
  2. Bedford students excel in math! This is the encouraging finding of a new assessment showing that New Hampshire students are outpacing the national average. The increase over 2019 happened during the pandemic in 2019 bucking the national trend, state education officials said. This all adds up to praise for New Hampshire students and educators! (WMUR)
  3. Volunteers are needed to help care for appreciative farm animals at the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill for a 1.5 -2-hour shift Friday night, between 4- 6 p.m. and a Sunday morning shift for the same amount of time that starts between 6-7:30 a.m. Volunteers will provide love and care for farm animals, like feeding and providing water for thankful farm animals. You may be bringing in Suzie, the pony, and Bessie, the donkey at night, or bring them out in the morning. Kids are welcome but must be with an adult age 18+ who oversees their work.
