Child And Man Injured By Dog In Incident On Lake Avenue In Manchester

A child was seriously injured after jumping the fence in a yard and was attacked by a dog. Manchester police removed 2 dogs from the scene.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police, firefighters, and AMR ambulance responded to a report of two people injured with dog bites at a Lake Ave Address Wednesday.

Responders arrived at about 12:15 p.m. and found an injured boy who had significant arm injuries from the dog. A man in his thirties also had injuries that appeared to be less severe.

Initial information gathered at the scene from witnesses indicated the child entered a secured fenced-in yard at 458 Lake Avenue and the dog attacked the child. The child was reportedly dragged a short distance. The man who was injured was attempting to use a shovel to get the dog off the child.

AMR immediately transported the child to the Elliot Hospital, although the child is expected to survive.

Manchester police detectives are investigating. Animal control removed two dogs from the scene. The dogs appeared to be well controlled by the owner, who walked them to the animal control van
